A stunning quilt, pieced by Audrey Evins, Oakley Kansas, is now on exhibit at The Hardt Gallery.
Audrey says that the quilt pattern was designed by Mary Lees from Topeka Kansas and was part of the Kansas Prairie Song Block of the Month series. It was quilted by Shelley Carmichael Smith of Aurora, Nebraska. This quilt so vibrantly represents Kansas that if you stand quietly and pay careful attention, you will hear the little meadowlark in the center sing its Kansas melody.
According to Hardt Gallery director Kary Zweygardt, the sale of this beautiful quilt will benefit
the gallery. “We are very grateful to the Evins family for the donation of this exceptional quilt”,
says Zweygardt.
This richly detailed queen size quilt, Kansas Prairie Song, is a perfect complement to the current
photography show, Kansas From the Seat of a Bike, by WenDee Rowe. Don’t miss this display.
This quilt is priced at $1,500 and directly benefits 202. We appreciate this donation.
