ABOUT
MISSION
202 on Washington serves Cheyenne County and surrounding counties in the tri-state area by enhancing lives through creativity and the arts. The group nourishes the roots of community by unleashing the power of creativity, providing quality programs, opportunities for education, and facilitating appreciation of the arts.
HISTORY
Cheyenne Center for Creativity stemmed from a collective idea discussed around a table in a coffee shop. The originators felt that the arts help communities survive and thrive, and a plan for action arose. In February 2008, CC4C planned its first event and established an art gallery. CC4C has held drama camps for local school children, and hosted poetry readings, and many more events centered around the arts.
202
We are working on a large project. The current gallery is located in a small portion of a large historic building in downtown St. Francis. Through multiple meetings and discussions, the idea to expand the gallery space as well as add an event center, commercial kitchen, and outdoor event center in the building was born. To further understand the vision for this historic building, please look at the “Spaces” page.
Through the generosity of community members and others who are interested in being part of this legacy, this idea can become a reality.
