3rd Annual Miniature Juried Show

Juror, Scott Chartier
I was raised in Eastern Colorado (three corners area) on a farm/ranch outside of Laird CO. My family homesteaded the area in the 1920’s and life was much different then, no indoor plumbing and wood/coal for heat. It was a hard simple life but I loved it. Growing up around some of the smartest and most well-rounded people who had a great appreciation for their surroundings ended up being one of my greatest gifts. I developed a love for nature and still enjoy hearing/smelling the prairie wake up each morning.
I studied biology, art and history at the University of Northern CO. and spent the next 35 years working in these fields. I have taught disciplines in pottery, sculpture, painting and art history. Art is my passion; I spend as much time creating it as possible. To address my love for history I was a docent at Centennial Village, curated various historical sites and eventually managed Centennial Village, Plumb Farm and Meeker House.
Now retired, I enjoy my family, creating art, fishing and historical programs.
